Descriptions and bright, remarkable paintings by Landor of people and places along his journey. Along with four other men, Landor explored and surveyed to elevations above 23,000 feet through Nepal, and sketched a marvelous tissue-guarded fold-out map of glaciers and peaks, here in excellent condition at rear of book. Blue cloth with gilt and black titles and decorations. Slight bumping and wear to spine and corners. Some browning to spine. Previous owner's names in ink to front endpaper (1916 & 1932). Age-toned endpapers. A scarce title. All plates present. No DJ, Decorative Boards, Very Good.
